Guys. this is a fun simple contest. good going so far. XPANDA asked me to post a poll quesion. i dont know how to set up a poll with the software so just be honest about it no hard feelings.

I was the first to post in week 9

there was no rules that week listed by xpanda on how to post, I did look at the top of the thread to remind if there was any special format needed. (Im in several contests and the posting rules change around).

I posted clearly a 4-0, first one, nobody said anything in the thread
(the great xpanda is running a great contest and in the past has just graded the games no matter if there was a small flow in posting or not, I know one week a guy posted early in no fspecial ormat and she was kind enough to copy and paste those picks into the thread and retype the games into the correct format for the player. in the spirit of a fun fun fun contest.)

xpanda graded as no action my 4-0.

But in the spirit xpanda says if 10 come in and Post here a YES
to give trytyrytry the 4-0 she will happily change it.

Im not "Trying" to pull anything, it was a mistake and I Was the first to post.

just post a YES if you think a 4-0 is the correct call on this

Orr if you really feel like it should be a NO action you can post a NO thats cool no hard feeling if you feel that way.

Im an outside factor if I get the 4-0, no factor if I dont.

im going to vote to give you the plays,

but as someone who grades a ton of contests here, and has to deal with a ton of registrations and such, I can say that it is frustrating as hell when people cannot read the rules.

some of these rules seem trivial, I know, but when we have more than 100 entries in some of these contests they become imperative...

it is very tough on the graders and the contest administrators....

I bring this up here trytrytry, only because I have had a few situations in the past couple of weeks where you didnt read the registration rules carefully in some other contests here and I had to follow up with you.... This happened more than once, you can imagine if it happened with everyone what an administrative nightmare this would be?

Again, it may seem harsh, but I see no other way when running these huge contests here at the RX....

(I am sure you remember the way JackofHearts graded the hockey contest last year, many times the plays the people wanted were obvious, but if a mistake was made,even a trivial one, they were graded NO ACTION)

Look I got nothing against this guy. For all I know he is the salt of the earth.

My problem is that when you let one thing slide then other things creep in.
The fact is he did not follow the rules. Whats the point of having rules if they are not going to be followed.

What is the point of letting people vote? The rules have already been set. If we are going to vote it should be pre constest and not after the fact.

IF long time veterans can come in and say
" Its okay to break the rules, we'll give you a break", then that is wrong.
I and the vast majority of RX contest players expect a fair and unbiased grading and not the "good ole boy" system in these things.

It has been stated by Sports Savant that this contestant has not followed rules in the past and has been notified as to such.
It can be very confusing sometimes when one has to post selections in a number on contests within a short time frame, I have screwed up myself , but that is part of the game.

Nice picks TRY, but they should not be counted.
That is my strong opinion.

Because in this case, I failed to post the rule again in the picks thread. If I had, we wouldn't be doing this now. I figured that given my screwup, it was only fair to see what the other participants think, and let that be the judge.

Otherwise, I totally agree with you.

Well of course if it were me complaining, everyone would have my head for it! So I hope that you guys remember that I am voting FOR HIM!

I am the leader right now and I would agree to allow his plays under one circumstance. ANY picks that do not include the line or rotation number for the rest of the contest should also be counted. There are only 2 games so that shouldnt be a problem. Hell I forsee myself making the same mistake later in the contest. So his plays should ONLY stand if everyone's plays stand the rest of the contest as long as they at least have the team name down for each game

I am fine with grading it, tough to overturn though, but it makes perfect sense to me, would have no hard feelings with a 4-0 mark.

He picked the games on time....and he picked the correct sides. I would not have a problem with whatever decision the MODERATOR would have made. Grading these contests is a grueling task, hence the need to enter things in the format that they desire. This decision should be entirely up to XPANDA (and without consideration of "who did it" )

Fair enough then, I was just trying to give myself a chance later since I might do the same thing or another poster might do the same thing. But he will get 10 votes easily I am sure. Of course had I done it, I would not get 10 votes so I will take extra care

xpanda is making another smart tweak of the rules today allowing people to skip this week as she did not have the thread up early. not sure anyone will skip but again a smart rule tweak in the spirt of people making picks on these 2 games.
